Assumption Convent School was founded by the Missionary Sisters of the Assumptionin 1946. It is an independent Catholic school for girls offering education from Grades 00 to 12.

The school is an associate member of the Catholic Schools Board and a member of the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa. It follows the three-term year.
